This from The Albatross...
This magnificent display of a beautiful rockery garden in full flourish on York Platform 11 – untouched my human hands since thousands of pounds was invested in replacing the hated, and simple to maintain, tarmac with the finest B & Q (other DIY stores are available) block paving.
I do hope our visually impaired passengers never have the misfortune to catch a train from the Platform 11 botanical retreat !

Railway Garden Competition - Darlington
This from Bertie Forest...
Contrast the lush green verdant track gardens of Network Rail's estate with this dried and withered planter at Darlington Station.
Perchance the state-owned rail franchise has run out of funds to water its plants?

Railway Garden Competition - Peterborough Yard
UPDATE: This from 31154...
I think your picture of Peterborough Yard requires a new category - Railway Farming Competition perhaps?
Very clever, though.
They seem to have genetically modified their crop to grow a snowplough in the field!

Railway Gardens - Freightliner at Peterborough
This from the Albatross...
No measurable rain in the Eastern half of the UK for several months has eased the workload of those responsible for vegetation control.
And yet, in spite of this, the bountiful Buddleia is fighting back!
At Freightliner's Nene Valley Depot on platform 3 at Peterborough station it looks like the vegetation has already won!
Rumour has it that two drivers entered the 'depot' a few weeks ago and have not been since...

Railway Garden Competition - King's Cross
Welcome to the 2011 Railway Garden Competition.
And our first entry shows the Easter Garden that has been cultivated at London King's Cross.
Good to see Network Rail entering into the seasonal spirit of things.
No doubt this particular four-foot flowering will enter its apogee in time for the 23rd May launch of Eureka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
More welcome.
