First class ban on Generals is a bit rich!

Exciting news from the Dear Leader.

According to the Sunday Times the OESI has decided that senior military officers must now slum it in Standard class.

Could this possibly have any connection with the PMs return trip to Brussels aboard Eurostar last week?

Eye wonders if impudent brass hats, travelling to and from NATO HQ, took the heaven sent opportunity to bend the Dear Leader's ear about kit shortages for our brave boys and girls?

God forbid that Gordo and entourage are disturbed on their own tax-payer funded first class jollies!

Adonis frontline tour becomes Pilgrimage of Shame

This from the Daily Telegraph...

British journalists and TV crews are to be banned from the Afghan front line once a date for the election has been set, while senior officers will be prohibited from making public speeches and talking to reporters.

Just fancy that.

Presumably this novel approach to 'open government' will also rain on the Noble Lord's April parade?

Eye fervently hopes so.

If the media is to be prevented from covering British troops as they risk life and limb in action, then what possible 'news-value' can there be in covering Adonis on a pre-election-jolly around the rail network?

Shame on this Government.

And shame on anyone tempted to cover
Adonis and his Pilgrimage of Grice whilst this MoD embargo remains in place.

A time for giving

This from the East London Advertiser...

"STAFF on the London Underground have kick-started the season of goodwill by holding a collection for a 'heroes' charity.

"They raised £7,000 for Help for Heroes, which supports soldiers injured in Afghanistan and Iraq, at the ticket barrier at Bank station in The City."

Railway Eye is happy to publicise charitable works...
